Brussels, Couldn't Leave the Girls out..
Same story as Miniken Pis, however her name is "Jeniken Pis". This story was made up to even the scales... Look Ma - I'm on a Segway in Czech
I'm in the Republic of Czech (Formerly Czechol+slovakia), in Prag "Praha". Yes, that's a beer in my hand, however notice the cup is still full. I didn't take a sip, otherwise that would be drinking and driving :) In anycase, I made my way around the whole city on this Segway... WHAT FUN!!! Oh and I met a supermodel (so they say... don't ask me who it is, because I'm not into that stuff. All I know is that she wanted to take a picture with us on the Segway, and she was a little under dressed for the weather, or someone said something to make her blush... IT WASN"T ME- HONEST...)
Mineken Pis'- Take it or Leave it...
This is Mineken Pis' a historical figure in the French/Belgium tradition of a little boy "taking a piss". The story goes something along this line: (Don't quote me I'm going off of memory as to how it was told to me by a local...) The family named "Pis.." was a well to do family and one day the father and son "Miniken" went on a local outting. Miniken became separated from his father and was lost for about 3 days. The father paid all his wages and went on a Major search and rescue to find his son. He rallied all the local merchants and politicians to help search for his son initially to no avail. Then one day as the father was on a normal route, he found his son in a uncompromising position, "urinating in the bushes". His father was so happy that he found him, he paid a local sculptor to have a statue made of his son in this uncompromising position. It is said this is where the term "Taking A Piss" comes from. The official story can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manneken_Pis Brussels, Is this A Statue??A co-worker and I went to downtown Brussels and we walked upon this replica of Van Gohn, a famous artist from Belgium. The strangest thing here, there was a man/statue sitting in a chair and a man/statue standing (picture above), painted, and dressed exactly a like. It is up to you to figure out which is the Man, and which is the statute... If you go to Brussels, you can see for yourself which is which!!!
